35 <p>In chronological order this inscription follows immediately after No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0067">67</ref> above, and No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0078">78</ref> after No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0068">68</ref> above. It was found impossible to insert them in their proper places, because Nos. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0064">64</ref> to <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0076">76</ref> had been already set up in pages when Nos. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0077">77</ref> and <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0078">78</ref> were copied. Besides these two records, the following inscriptions commencing with <foreign>pukaḻmātu viḷaṅka</foreign> were copied in 1901, in addition to those noted under clause VIII. on page 126 above:—</p>

· <list><item>30. 36th year: Teṉṉēri, No. 195 of 1901.</item>
·
· <item>31. 41st year: do. No. 197 of 1901.</item>

· <item>32. 42nd year: Achcharapākkam, No. 254 of 1901.</item>
·
· <item>33. 43rd year: do. No. 259 of 1901.</item>
·
45 <item>34. 49th year: do. No. 256 of 1901.</item></list>
·
· <p>The subjoined inscription (No. 206 of 1901) is engraved on the south wall of the <hi rend="bold">Lakshmīnārāyaṇa</hi> temple at <hi rend="bold">Kāvāntaṇḍalam</hi>. The same temple contains three earlier inscriptions (Nos. 207 to 209 of 1901), according to which it was built in the time of the Gaṅga-Pallava king <hi rend="bold">Kampavarman</hi><note>See page 8 above.</note> by a certain <hi rend="bold">Mānasarpa</hi> from <hi rend="bold">Kuḷaṉūr</hi><note>This is evidently another form of Kuḷam or Kolanu, the modern Ellore; see above, Vol. II. p. 308.</note> in <hi rend="bold">Vēṅgai-nāḍu</hi>.</p>

· <p>The inscription, which is incomplete, is dated in the 4th year of the reign of <hi rend="bold">Rājēndra-Chōḷa</hi> II., but omits the reference to his queen which occurs in the Sōmaṅgalam inscription of the 3rd year (No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0067">67</ref> above). It records the proceedings of a meeting of the assembly of <hi rend="bold">Kāyvāṉtaṇḍalam</hi> (l. 3) in <hi rend="bold">Tamaṉūr-nāḍu</hi>, a subdivision of the district of <hi rend="bold">Ūṟṟukkāṭṭu-kōṭṭam</hi> Kāvāntaṇḍalam, Tamaṉūr<note>See above, Vol. I. p. 180 and note 1.</note> and Ūṟṟukkāḍu<note>See <hi rend="italic">ibid.</hi> p. 181 and note 1; Vol. II. p. 345; Vol. III. p. 118 and note 2.</note> are all included in the modern Conjeeveram tāluka.<note>Nos. 404, 395 and 112 of the <hi rend="italic">Madras Survey Map.</hi></note> </p>
