On the 9th day of the 7th month in the (Pyu) year 41 King Hari Vikrama died. His age was 57 years, 2 months and 24 days.

<phvuṃ >: note interesting allograph of <-u> associated with postconsonantal <-v>, more clearly detectable in PYU 6; also found in PYU 16.

Bibliography

ASI reports the discovery of two urns with inscriptions, our PYU 5 and 6, and cites Blagden, who viewed an estampage and noted the honorific <tdaṃḥ ƀaṁḥ>, relating it to the name of the legendary Duttabaung. ASB, recapitulates much of the same information, but adds a reading of the name Harivikrama by the government epigraphist, Venkayya. Blagden 1913_–_1914, p. (A) provides a complete reading, and a tentative translation. Tha Myat [sā mrat] 1963, pp. 47 (A), 50, provides eye copy, transliteration in Burmese script and English translation. Luce 1985, pp. I, 48, 57 n. 13, 126–7, constitutes an overview, and Sein Win [cin vaṅḥ] 2016, p. 62 provides another set of eye drawings and transliterations, with minor differences from earlier ones. Re-edited here from published photographs.
