However, autopsy and photographic documentation clearly show that the inscription reads <foreign>nilattumoṇṭaṭṭi</foreign>.

· This is the 18th year of glorious king Kulottunga Cōla <supplied reason="explanation">III</supplied>, emperor of the three worlds, who graciously took the crown head of the Pāṇṭiya king and Maturai.

· In the temple of Lord of Nalla Nāyaṉār of Nallur, situated in the northern hamlet <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vaṭa-piṭākai</foreign></supplied> of the auspicious Muṭikoṇṭacōḻa-caturvedimaṅgalam, Tillai-nāyaka-vēḷāṇ graciously made <supplied reason="subaudible">the deity</supplied> Poṉparappīśvaram-uṭaiya-nāyaṉār to be installed as a liṅga shrine <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>āśrayaliṅga</foreign></supplied>.<note>Since this is an endowment done by Poṉparappiṉāṉ Vaṇakōvaraiyaṉ for offerings to the god Poṉparappīśvaram in the form of a liṅga shrine, it could be plausible to assume that the name of the liṅga in question was given after this important Bāṇa chieftain.</note>

· After digging out <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>noṇṭu</foreign></supplied> the land included within the four boundaries of the devadāna of Nalla-Nāyaṉār of this village and putting in place <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>aṭṭi</foreign></supplied> a protective fence <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kāval vēliyāy</foreign></supplied>, the cultivating tenants <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>uḻakkuṭimakkaḷ</foreign></supplied> of this land <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>innilam</foreign></supplied>, current lease-holders <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>aṉṟāṭu paṟṟāḷaṉ</foreign></supplied>, will bring two <foreign>tūṇis</foreign> and one <foreign>patakku</foreign> per <foreign>vēli</foreign> of land. After taking <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>koṇṭu</foreign></supplied> that which is accrued <supplied reason="explanation">at that rate</supplied> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vantavaṟku</foreign></supplied>, <supplied reason="subaudible">it shall be used</supplied> for the food offerings <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tiruppaṭi-māṟu</foreign></supplied> given to this Lord Poṉparappīśvaram-uṭaiya-nāyaṉār, as long as the sun and the moon endure.
