⟨1⟩ Prosperity! Fortune!

⟨1⟩ This is the second year of king Parakēsari-paṉma.

⟨1⟩ We are the assembly (sabhaiyōm) of Cattaṉūr, a brahmadeya on the south bank of Tiraimūr-nāṭu.

⟨1–3⟩ After the land for the Mahādeva of Tiruvāvaṭutuṟai was sold as tax-free land (iṟaiyiḻicci viṟṟu-k-kuṭutta) to Caṅkayaṉ Oṟṟi –a member of the Ātittapaṉma-terinta army (kaikkōḷar) and who was endowed (ceyta) with a coconut garden of a thousand trees (āyiravaṉāḷ)–, four mās of our general land (potunilam) in our village, Miṟṟalan-kuṭi, were stipulated (ceyyum) as long as the sun and the moon last.

⟨3–4⟩ The boundaries of the land are to the west of the Uṭciṟu channel (vāykkāl), to the north of the Kāmakkāṇi Kumaraṉaṅki land […], and to the south of the Pāratāyaṉ Nāraṇanaṅki land. These are the four contiguous boundaries of the land that we, the assembly ⟨of Cattaṉūr⟩, have sold as land for the flower garden of the temple (nantavāṉappuṟam).

⟨4⟩ The protector (kāccaṉ) ⟨i.e., Caṅkayaṉ Oṟṟi⟩ of the thousand coconut trees (teṅk’ āyiramum) took the produce (pōkam) of hundreds (nūṟu nūṟu) of coconut trees and built (ceyyavum vaiccu) the existing flower-garden, which was previously this field (piṉp-ic-cey) […].

⟨4⟩ That is under the protection of the panmāheśvaras.
