Vāseṭṭhīputta Sivasiri-Puḷumāvi [orders:] “… ¿ferments? and so on, … bulbs, roots… sesame oil … he who does … must not live here.

… and who is not an ascetic must not live here. The doorman should … he who is clothed in white and who has stayed [here?] for one night…

Commentary

This and KnI0417 may bear two copies of a royal edict — or two distinct edicts issued by the same king — addressed to what we argue, on terminological ground, is a non-Buddhist ascetic community.
