⟨1⟩ […][pava]⟨Fragment lost⟩jitā(naṁ) (nānāde)s(asama)⟨Fragment lost⟩[nāgatānaṁ] […] ⟨2⟩ […]⟨Fragment lost⟩°atano °ubhayakulasa ⟨Fragment lost⟩[…] ⟨3⟩ […]⟨Fragment lost⟩[1×]parināmetūnaṁ (°a)⟨Fragment lost⟩[tano] […] ⟨4⟩ […]⟨Fragment lost⟩pu(ta) ⟨Fragment lost⟩[…]

Apparatus

⟨1⟩ [pava]jitā(naṁ)(nānāde)s(asama)[nāgatānaṁ]...(sa)vajātan(iyutaṁ)(catusāla) Vogelb • See EIAD 28, l. 2.

⟨3⟩ [1×] parināmetūnaṁ ( °a)[tano](ke) parināmetuna Vogelb • — ⟨3⟩ pu(ta) • We tentatively follow here Vogel’s reading. This however does not seem to fit with any formula in other inscriptions in the corpus, and is hence suspect. One is tempted to read instead data(sa), but the da would be rather squeezed then and the ta asymmetrical.

Translation

... (consisting) of ... renunciants who (come) from various countries ..., having dedicated (the merit) ... of her family on both sides ..., her ... son ...

Notes

  1. 1. According to Sarkar1969, this fragment may belong with EIAD 24 (Vogel’s M4, M5, M10, M16, M18), but this seems impossible to us as this fragment partly covers the same text as 24.
