Commentary
At the bottom of the Northern face C, a symbol marks the end of the last line, and is reproduced identically at the beggining of the Western face D, indicating the progression of the text. Simultaneously, the word written at the end of face C is interrupted after one syllable, and continues at the beginning of face D : ka- (l. C29) -narāv (l. D21), kanarāv. This is corroborated by the presence of the expression ṅauk sāṅ urāṅ kanarāv knāṁ mulaṅ, "back to above the house of the man Kanarāv Knām", at the end of this segment of the description, l. D22. This method of indicating where the text continues through symbols is unique in the Indrapura’s corpus. At the end of face D, a different symbol, in the shape of a cross, is written and the last word galauk is also interrupted after two syllables: galau-. However, none of the cam parts of the pillar’s three other faces bears this same symbol, and no trace of the missing -k can be found. Was the text continuing on another artefact, yet to be discovered?
