⟨1⟩ Prosperity! Fortune!
⟨1–2⟩ This glorious maṇḍapa [is named after] Poṉparappiṉāṉ alias the king Rājarāja.
⟨2–3⟩ He who made this is Tillai Nāyaka Vēḷāṉ alias Cuntapaṭṭaṉ,2 lord of Āṟṟūr.

<p>Compare with <ref target="DHARMA_INSTamilNadu00052"/>, also mentioning Cuntaṉ Paṭṭaṉ. It is not clear if the <foreign>maṇḍapa</foreign> referred to in both inscriptions is the same one as <ref target="DHARMA_INSTamilNadu00045"/> is on the wall of the <foreign>mukhamaṇḍapa</foreign> and <ref target="DHARMA_INSTamilNadu00052"/> on a pillar of the open maṇḍapa in front of the <foreign>mukhamaṇḍapa</foreign>.</p>
<p>It is not clear if the <foreign>maṇḍapa</foreign> is a gift by Poṉparappiṉāṉ who had it constructed by Cuntapaṭṭaṉ (see <ptr target="bib:ARIE1939-1943"/>) or if it is a gift by Cuntapaṭṭaṉ (see <ref target="DHARMA_INSTamilNadu00052"/>) who had it named after Poṉparappiṉāṉ.</p>

Commentary
Compare with INSTamilNadu00052, also mentioning Cuntaṉ Paṭṭaṉ. It is not clear if the maṇḍapa referred to in both inscriptions is the same one as INSTamilNadu00045 is on the wall of the mukhamaṇḍapa and INSTamilNadu00052 on a pillar of the open maṇḍapa in front of the mukhamaṇḍapa.
It is not clear if the maṇḍapa is a gift by Poṉparappiṉāṉ who had it constructed by Cuntapaṭṭaṉ (see ARIE) or if it is a gift by Cuntapaṭṭaṉ (see INSTamilNadu00052) who had it named after Poṉparappiṉāṉ.
