<p>On the third pillar in the <hi rend="italic">maṇḍapa</hi> in front of the central shrine in the Vēdāraṇyēśvara temple.</p>
<p>Parāntaka I. Year [3]7: 943-44 A.D.</p>
<p>This inscription is dated in the reign of Madiraikoṇḍa Parakēsari.</p>
<p>It records the gift of 96 sheep for a perpetual lamp for god Mahādēva in Tirumaṟaikkāḍu, a <hi rend="italic">perundēvadāna</hi> in Umbaḷa-nāḍu, by Irumuḍiśōḻa Aṇukki[li] Chchāman-āchchan I.kaṉāch[cha]ṉ, for the merit of his sister. The sister's mother [I]la[tta]naṅgai is stated to have been a servant in the big palace establishment (<hi rend="italic">periyavēḷam</hi>) at Tañjāvūr.</p>
