Translation

⟨1–3⟩ Tirthy-third ⟨year⟩ of the victorious king Macīntiraparumaṉ.¹

⟨3–13⟩ ⟨This is⟩ the stone ⟨of⟩ the son ⟨of⟩ Poṅkiyār, ⟨who was also⟩ the younger son (iḷa-makaṉ) ⟨of⟩ Poṉṉi(taṉ)ṉār, the honourable paternal uncle ⟨of⟩ Kantaviṇṇaṉār², he who fell hit (eytu) ⟨by⟩ a knife, when Kantaviṇṇaṉār, the nephew ⟨of⟩ the royal Bāṇa king marched (ceṉṟu³) ¿⟨in⟩ Vēlmaṟutti? against (mēl⁴) Poṉṉarampaṉār, the nephew ⟨of⟩ the royal Bāṇa king.
