⟨2⟩ śvara-parama-bhaṭṭāra-satyā¡s!raya-kuḷa-tiḷakaṁ cāḷukyābharaṇaṁ

⟨3⟩ śrīmatr¡i!lōkyamalladēvara rājyadalu ¡s!aka ¡variṣa! 897 neya yu-

⟨4⟩ va saṁvatsarada bhādrapadad’ ¡amavāse! Ādityavāra byatipāta sūrya-

⟨5⟩ grahaṇad’ andu śrīmadaṁ kuliyarasar piriya būtayya gaḍaṁ-

⟨6⟩ ba kaḍaṁbē¡s!varamaṁ māḍsi sivarāsi-jīyara kālaṁ karcci bi-

⟨7⟩ ṭṭa dharmmaṁ taḷagada dharmma-gēri kaḍaṁbēsvara dēvargge yu

⟨8⟩ [*]jamaḷasa kaṇnasa baddhagivāḷu sātēvāḷu Ini nityaṁ

⟨9⟩ dēvas¿t?aṁ nandā-dīvigege sōḍargge haradara k¡e!riyalu pa-

⟨10⟩ tu gadyāṇaṁ teṁkaṇa kēriyal aydu gadyāṇa In’ idhellamaṁ

⟨11⟩ ¡ki!ḍisidavargge kurukṣētrada banārāsiyalu sāsira kavile-

⟨12⟩ yan aḷida dōṣaṁ [ī] dharmmavaṁ aḻidavriṁge | |svasti ¿?ṁgaḷa ka-

⟨13⟩ lyāṇaṁ kaḍaṁbē[śva]ra dēvara kāsu pattege siraṁjiyāt·

Translation

⟨1–3⟩ In the kingdom of the prosperous Trailōkyamalladēva — refuge of the entire world, lord of the earth, king of kings, supreme lord, most venerable, ornament to the Satyāśraya family, ornament to the Cāḷukyas

⟨3–5⟩ at the time of the solar eclipse, during the highly inauspicious vyatipāta period on Sunday, the new moon of the month of Bhādrapada in the Yuva samvatsara of the year śaka 897

⟨5–7⟩ the prosperous Kuliyarasar also known as the senior Būtayya-Gaḍamba had the deity Kaḍambēśvara made, and having washed the feet of Sivarāsi-jīyar, released this endowment to the unbending Kaḍambēśvara of the ritual lane

⟨7–10⟩ the villages of Yu[1×].jamaḷasa, Kaṇnasa, Baddhagivāḷu are from now on compulsory property of the temple. For burning the perpetual lamp, ten gadyāṇa in the merchants’ lane and five gadyāṇa in the southern lane will be collected

⟨10–12⟩ Henceforth, whosoever ruins all of this carries the fault of killing a thousand brown cows of Kurukṣētra at Vāraṇāsi, the one who destroys this endowment

⟨12–13⟩ Benediction, the coin of the auspicious and prosperous Kaḍambēśvara ppattege siraṁjiyāt
