35 <p>This inscription records a gift of 100 sheep for a perpetual lamp in the temple of Tiruneyttānattu-Mādēva by <hi rend="bold">Kaḍambamādēvi, the wife of Vikki-Aṇṇaṉ</hi> who is stated to have received several honours and the hereditary title <hi rend="bold">‘Śembiyaṉ-Tamiḻavēḷ’</hi> both from the Chōḷa king ‘who overran the Toṇḍai-nāḍu and was the conqueror of kings with many elephants’ and from the Chēra king <hi rend="bold">Sthāṇu-Ravi.</hi> This Chōḷa king has been identified with <hi rend="bold">Āditya I</hi> who is known from the <hi rend="italic">Tiruvālaṅgāḍu Plates</hi> to have conquered Toṇḍaimaṇḍalam from the Pallava king Aparājita.</p>
