· <p>Hail ! Prosperity ! In the 2nd year of (<hi rend="italic">the reign of</hi>) king <hi rend="bold">Partma</hi> (<hi rend="italic">i.e.</hi>, <hi rend="bold">Pārthivēndra</hi>)-<hi rend="bold">Mahārāja</hi> who took the head of <hi rend="bold">Vīra-Pāṇḍya . . . . . . . . . . Uttaramēruchaturvē[dimaṅgalam*]</hi> (<hi rend="italic">situated</hi>) in its (<hi rend="italic">own</hi>) subdivision in <hi rend="bold">Kāliyūrkōṭṭam</hi>. Two hundred and forty <hi rend="italic">kuḻi</hi> of second rate (<hi rend="italic">land</hi>) in the first <hi rend="italic">śadukkam (situated</hi>) to the west of (<hi rend="italic">the path called</hi>) <hi rend="bold">[Utta]ramēru-vadi</hi> . . . . . ; five hundred and sixty <hi rend="italic">kuḻi</hi> of first rate (<hi rend="italic">land</hi>) in this same place . . . . . . . ; in this same place . . . . . . . of first rate areca (<hi rend="italic">land</hi>) in the fifth <hi rend="italic">śadukkam (situated</hi>) to the west of (<hi rend="italic">the path called</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Amaṉināraṇa-vadi</hi> of the fifteenth <hi rend="italic">kaṇṇāṟu</hi> . . . . . . . . We (<hi rend="italic">the members</hi>) of the big assembly ordered (<hi rend="italic">to be</hi>) [tax-free] . . . . Those who obstruct this (<hi rend="italic">charity) (shall be liable to pay</hi>) a fine of 25 <hi rend="italic">kaḻañju</hi> of gold to the seat of justice . . . . . . . . I, <hi rend="bold">Śivadāsaṉ Brahmapriyaṉ</hi>, an arbitrator (<hi rend="italic">madhyastha</hi>) of this village, being in the assembly wrote (<hi rend="italic">this</hi>) at the command of the members of the assembly. The sacred watch of the image of this god and . . . . . . we (<hi rend="italic">the residents</hi>) of the village (<hi rend="italic">ūrōm</hi>) agreed that we shall not receive any kind of taxes . . . . . shall themselves pay to this god every kind (<hi rend="italic">of tax</hi>). Those who act against this . . . . <hi rend="bold">Gaṅgā</hi> (the Ganges) . . . . .</p>
