35 <p>This is again a record of <hi rend="bold">Rājakēsarivarman</hi> dated in his 8th year and is in some respects similar to the preceding number. It records that the assembly of <hi rend="bold">Uttamaśīlichaturvēdimaṅgalam</hi>, having received ten <hi rend="italic">kāśu</hi> as tax-money from <hi rend="bold">Tappildaram Pallavaraiyaṉ</hi> <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> <hi rend="bold">Kīḻmāndūr Paruvūr</hi>, the donor of No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0111">111</ref> and a <hi rend="italic">perundaram</hi> of <hi rend="italic">āḷvār</hi> <hi rend="bold">Arikulakēsaridēva</hi>, made the land one <hi rend="italic">mā</hi> and odd, granted by him to the Śiva temple at <hi rend="bold">Tiruppaṇambūdūr</hi>, tax-free for all time to come. Like the previous inscription, this record also authorizes the imposition of a fine on the members and the accountants of the assembly who might suggest the levying of a tax on the land. The epithet <hi rend="italic">āḷvār</hi> which is applied to Arikulakēsaridēva in this inscription is perhaps a term of respect, as <hi rend="italic">piḷḷaiyār</hi> in the previous inscription was one of endearment.</p>
