35 <p>This inscription is dated in the 14th year of the reign of <hi rend="bold">Rājarāja-Kēsarivarman</hi>. Like No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv03p0i0002.xml">2</ref>, which is dated one year earlier, it refers to the destruction of the ships at <hi rend="bold">Śālai</hi>, and mentions in addition the conquest of <hi rend="bold">Vēṅgaiññāḍu</hi> (or Vēṅgai-nāḍu), <hi rend="bold">Gaṅga-pāḍi, Taḍiya-vaḻi</hi> (instead of which most other inscriptions of Rājarāja I. read Taḍigai-pāḍi), and <hi rend="bold">Nuḷamba-pāḍi</hi>.</p>

· <p>The inscription records that a certain <hi rend="bold">Peṟṟāṉ Adittaṉ</hi>, a native of the <hi rend="bold">Chōḷa</hi> country, purchased two pieces of land, the first piece from a private person and the second from the assembly of the village, and that he made over both pieces of land to the villagers for maintaining a flower-garden for the temple.</p>
