Commentary
At first, Krom (1927, pp. 52–53) proposed pūrvasaṁjñā “acknowledgement of the former” for the reading preceding śabdaśravaṇa, but Lévi (1932, pp. 88–89) proposed another reading pūrvābhijñā “knowledge of previous lives”, supplemented from the Chinese version Ye pao tch'a pie king.
