Commentary

Notes from Desai [1958] 1949–1950 : "the present one appears to be the only buddhist copper-plate record of the early period so far known" Script : southern alphabet of the early age (deccan and western part of South India). Language : sanskrit. Initial bendiction and final imprecation in verses. Praise of the lord of Buddha. Gift of village by the king to the Ārya Saṁgha. End : exhortation to protect the charity bestowed ipon the Ārya Saṁgha and an imprecation against its violators. No date but palaeography maybe end of the 5th and beginning of the 6th century
