Hoernle_1889 and Fleet_1890 read Puragupta instead of Purugupta. The reading puru may have been first proposed by #Agrawal_1940:60-61, who says that according to Hoernle, Cunningham had also read Puru on a coin (ref JASB 1894 p212, untraced).

Fleet reads this queen's name śrī mahā..., conjecturing śrī-Mahālakṣmīdevī but can also conceive it as Mahādevidevī and plain Mahādevī. Hoernle's suggestion for this name is Śrīmatīdevī. Sircar (SI) conjectures śrīman-mitradevī. śrī-mittradevī, with the line break before vyām, is from Bhandarkar; Agrawala agrees.
