The character at the end of line 11 looks like su or mu, so (though the facsimile is unclear) even if Bhandarkar's reading is correct, his su should probably be read at the end of 11, not the beginning of 12.

* Pandey_1980:436 quotes Sadhu Ram (VIJ 4 pp72-74) as reading vr̥ttakathane yaṁ hrepayaty āryyatā, "Whom his nobility makes to blush when his exploits are narrated by means of songs and praises." For the lacuna Fleet conjectures yāvad ā-candra-tārakam (also retained by Sircar). Bhandarkar dismisses it on the grounds that "if yāvat is used, ā is superfluous", which is true but inconsequential; the phrase would be plausible. Bhandarkar tentatively suggests kumārasvāmi-nāmikām. Agrawala has yāvaccandrārkatārakam (probably to avoid the superfluous ā), and notes that Sircar "gives the letters without an asterisk as if they are decipherable in the facsimile; but the stone here has peeled off." In fact the closing bracket is missing from Sircar (typo?) - an asterisk may have been meant to go next to it. Agrawal_1986:63 suggests the combined restoration na yasya pratimā kācit ... kumārasvāmi-nāmikām. Willis_2009:145-146 prefers kumārasvāmi-nāmikām, adducing that bricks with the inscription śrīkumāragupta(sya) have been found at the temple site (Cunningham_1871a: plate 30).

The first enaṁ in l18 may refer to the god (Fleet, Bhandarkar, Bakker_2005, Willis_2009:383-384) or possibly to the pillar (Fleet_1888:56). I might note that it could very well be enāṁ instead, which would seem much more logical to me. The inscription is more than unclear, nothing is discernible in my rubbing, and Cunningham's eye copy has a few indiscernible traces (including something that looks like de and is probably cai of cainaṁ, then later on tigupta, corresponding(!) to our tiṣṭhāpya. That is to say, if pratiṣṭhāpya is so uncertain that Cunningham copied it as #tigupta, then how much more uncertain the more damaged bits could be.

For saṁśritaḥ in l19, Fleet, Sircar and Agrawala read saṁsthitaḥ. Fleet believes this may refer to the village "which has been agreed to" or to the column "which stands here". Agrawala comments, "whatever is made here by way of donation." Bhandarkar reads saṁskritaḥ, which he understands to refer to the place of the column, which was consecrated for this purpose. Willis_2009:146-149 discusses this reading at length, arguing (on the basis of an autopsy as well as Fleet's rubbing and Cunningham's eye copy) for saṁśritaḥ. He points out that Fleet's (and his followers') sthi is unlikely, and that Cunningham's copy has śri. Willis, following Bakker, understands this to mean the village community living here.
