On palaeographical grounds the inscription may be assigned to the 13th century.

This inscription records the gift of 32 cows left in the hands of the śivabrāhmaṇas of the temple, by Niṉṟaikuḷattūḻāṉ Tiruvaṉpeṟṟāṉ alias Niṉṟaiyūrnāṭṭu-vēḷāṉ, for burning a perpetual lamp to the deity Tirukkārikarai-uḍaiyār.
