·
· <p>Parāntaka I. Year 32: 938-39 A.D.</p>
·
· <p>This inscription which is partly in verse describes the king Parāntaka as one who destroyed the fortified (city of) Madurai. It seems to refer to an encounter between the Chōḷa king and the king of the Siṅghaḷas (<hi rend="italic">Siṅgaḷar-kōṉ</hi>).</p>
40 <p>It records the gift of 90 sheep by Guṇavaṉ, an illustrious native of Iḍaiyūr for a perpetual lamp to the god at Tirumaṟaikkāḍu on the occasion of his return after defeating the king of the Siṅgaḷas.</p>
