Summary: See IAR 1969-70 (no. 39, p. 50): “This incomplete inscription in Tamil language and characters of the ninth century A.D., engraved on the tripattakumuda of the north and south walls of the Vaikuṇṭha Perumāḷ temple, is dated in the twenty-fifth year in the reign of Pallava Vijaya-Kampavarman. It mentions Cittiramēkataṭākam in Kaliyūr-kōttam and seems to record a gift of land endowed to a deity called Irunta-Perumāṉaṭikaḷ as devadāna and made tax-free for conducting a festival for seven days from Vicākam to Tiruvōṇam in the month of Vaikāci every year.”

Commentary

From ARIE 1892–93 (ARIE 1892-1893, p. 6) and Hultzsch 1903 (SII 3, p. 8), we learn that the temple name is Vīṟṟirunta Perumāḷ and that the Pallava king is named Kō-Vicaiya-Kampa-Vikramavarman.
