Bibliography

This inscription, on the bottom of the urn, is acknowledged by Blagden 1913_–_1914, p. 127 (D2) but not transliterated. ASB also mentions the bottom inscription and notes the “interlineation” – i.e., the sublinear consonants – which accounts for the report of 16 lines rather than 8. Luce, in Luce 1985, pp. I, 65, 75 n. 23, 127, clarified the number of lines in his overview (“eight lines of Tircul interlining eight of Brahmī”) and noted a transliteration by Blagden that was never published. Sein Win [cin vaṅḥ] 2016, pp. 66–70 provides eye copy and a new transcription (in Burmese). Re-edited here from published photographs and our team’s RTIs.
