Bibliography
The discovery of this “inscribed slab” was first reported in ASI and described as bilingual in Pyu and “an unknown language, probably Sanskrit”, claims repeated in Le May 1956, p. 47. Luce 1985, pp. I, 65, 75 n. 25, 131, provides an overview and describes the inscription as “8 lines of Tircul [Pyu] and 8 interlinear lines of Brahmi”. Sein Win [cin vaṅḥ] 2016, pp. 84–7 provides a new reading in Burmese script. Re-edited here from our team’s RTIs.
