Commentary

It is difficult to determine the number of missing akṣaras at the beginning of the line, but it is clear that this is the end of a sentence, the earlier part of which was completely abraded by erosion caused by water. The translation of Gokhale “(The monk) blessed by the feet of the Master” (presumably based on the proximity of this inscription to a pair of carved footprints) may be entirely dismissed.
