⟨1–2⟩ In the glorious name of the king Rājendracōḻa, ⟨this is⟩ the glorious surrounding hall (maṇṭakam1) that Jakkiyappai, daughter of Tribhuvana of Iṭṭakirai, had built below (kīḻ2) the Cūḻkal hill (cūḻkal-malai), alias the golden mountain (kanaka-parvata), in the Kaṭampaṉākkaināṭu.

In the glorious name of the king Rājendracōḻa, <supplied reason="subaudible">this is</supplied> the glorious surrounding hall <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>maṇṭakam</foreign><note>Sanskrit <foreign>maṇdapa</foreign>.</note></supplied> that Jakkiyappai, daughter of Tribhuvana of Iṭṭakirai, had built below <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kīḻ</foreign><note>That is, "at the feet of".</note></supplied> the Cūḻkal hill <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>cūḻkal-malai</foreign></supplied>, alias the golden mountain <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kanaka-parvata</foreign></supplied>, in the Kaṭampaṉākkaināṭu.
