Notes

  1. 1. The name makes reference to the main Śiva temple at Kañcipuram.

  2. 2. The name referes to Chidambaram.

  3. 3. Cf. SII08/INSSIIv08p0i0091 and SII12/INSSIIv12p0i0150. These records mention one (or two) homonymous tēvaraṭiyāḷ named Aṟamuṭaiyāḷ associated to the temple of Āṭkoṇṭadēva at Tiruveṇṇainallūr: in SII 8.91 (Rājarāja III, year 21) she is mentioned among the kaikkōḷar of the temple, whereas in SII 12.150 (Kōpperuñciṅka I, year 6) she is mentioned to be a tēvaraṭiyāḷ of the temple. This 13th-century records should not be conflated with the Aṟamuṭaiyāḷ, mother of Nāṟpatteṇṇāyira Naṅkai alias Nācci, in INSTamilNadu00029, which is the tēvaraṭiyāḷ kaṭaikkāppu of the tiruvempāvai in INSTamilNadu00035.
