35 <p>This is clearly an inscription of <hi rend="bold">Uttama-Chōḷa.</hi> It states that this temple with the <hi rend="italic">snapana-maṇḍapa</hi> (bathing hall), <hi rend="italic">gōpura</hi>, the <hi rend="italic">śuṛṛālai</hi> (enclosed verandah) and the shrines for the <hi rend="italic">parivāra-dēvatas</hi> was <hi rend="bold">constructed by queen Śembiyaṉ-Mahādēviyārī mother of Uttama-Chōḷa, the daugther of the chief Maḻapurumānaḍigal and queen of Gaṇḍarādityadēva</hi> who was the son of Periya-Śōḻaṉār (the great Chōla king) Śrī Parāntakadēvar. It also gives a list of the several gold and silver ornaments and utensils and other articles of worship presented by her ladyship to the temple. These comprised five copper lamps, one gold diadem five <hi rend="italic">kaḻañju</hi> in weight less a <hi rend="italic">mañjāḍi</hi>, a silver plate weighing 389 <hi rend="italic">kaḻañju</hi>, a silver jar <hi rend="italic">(keṇḍi)</hi> of 199 3/4 <hi rend="italic">kaḻañju</hi>, 2 gold flowers weighing a <hi rend="italic">kaḻañju</hi> and half, a gold fore-head plate <hi rend="italic">(paṭṭam)</hi> weighing one <hi rend="italic">kaḻañju</hi> for God Naṭarāja (Kūttapperumāḷ), a gold <hi rend="italic">tāli</hi> for Goddess Umā-Bhaṭṭārakī, a pearl necklace <hi rend="italic">(pañchasari)</hi> fastened with 3 <hi rend="italic">iḍaikkaṭṭu</hi> and 2 <hi rend="italic">tāḷimbam</hi> and another necklace with a gold middle piece <hi rend="italic">(palagai)</hi> and a siver <hi rend="italic">iḍaikkaṭṭu</hi> and (lastly) a gold flower for Kūttapperumāḷ.</p>
