<p>This is evidently assignable to <hi rend="bold">Uttama Chōḷa.</hi> It gives the interesting information that while <hi rend="bold">Parāntakaṉ-Mādēvaḍigaḷār</hi> <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> <hi rend="bold">Śembiyan Mahādēviyār the mother of Uttama-Chōḷa and daughter of Maḻavaraiyar</hi> caused to be rebuilt of stone, the original brick-structure of the central shrine of the temple of Mahādēva at Tirukkōḍikāval in Nallāṟṟūr-nāḍu, she ordered the re-engravement on its walls, of the several records of endowments originally incised on loose slabs, and that this is one such document. It is dated in the 9th opposite the 4th regnal year of the <hi rend="bold">Pāṇḍya king Māṟaṉ Śaḍaiyaṉ</hi>, and records a gift of 120 <hi rend="italic">[kaḻañju]</hi> of gold which was entrusted to the <hi rend="italic">sabhā</hi> of Mahēndra-Kōṭṭūr by <hi rend="bold">Vara[guṇa-Mahārāja]</hi>, for burning perpetual lamps with the daily supply of a <hi rend="italic">nāḻi</hi> of ghee in the temple.</p>
