· <p>(Line 1.) Hail ! Prosperity ! In the 6th year of (<hi rend="italic">the reign of</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Pārthivēndrādhipativarman</hi> who took the head of the <hi rend="bold">Pāṇḍya</hi> (<hi rend="italic">king), (this is</hi>) the writing of us (<hi rend="italic">the members</hi>) of the assembly of <hi rend="bold">Uttaramēru-chaturvēdimaṅgalam</hi>, (<hi rend="italic">a village</hi>) in its (<hi rend="italic">own</hi>) subdivision in <hi rend="bold">Kāliyūr-kōṭṭam</hi>. The following are the lands which <hi rend="bold">Śandraṉ Eḻunūṟṟuvaṉ</hi> <hi rend="italic">alias</hi> <hi rend="bold">Nuḷamba Māyilaṭṭi</hi> of <hi rend="bold">Raṇavīrappāḍi</hi>, (<hi rend="italic">a hamlet</hi>) of <hi rend="bold">Kāñchīpuram</hi> acquired for <hi rend="italic">śrībalibhōga</hi> out of the lands lying waste <foreign>(viḻuliyāy kiṭaṉta nilam)</foreign> in our village and gave as <hi rend="italic">śrībalibhōga</hi> to the god (<hi rend="italic">perumāṉaḍigaḷ</hi>) of <hi rend="bold">Tiruvuṉṉaūr:—</hi></p>

The purpose of the repetition is not apparent.</note> ; 300 <hi rend="italic">kuḻi</hi> of fourth rate (<hi rend="italic">land</hi>) of the sixth <hi rend="italic">śadukkam</hi> east of (<hi rend="italic">the path called</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Pallavanāraṇa-vadi</hi> in the sixteenth <hi rend="italic">kaṇṇāṟu</hi>, south of the <hi rend="italic">channel</hi> <hi rend="bold">Śrīdēvi-vāykkāl</hi>; and 240 <hi rend="italic">kuḻi</hi> of second rate (<hi rend="italic">land</hi>) of the ninth and tenth <hi rend="italic">śadukkam</hi>, east of (<hi rend="italic">the path called</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Māṟapiḍuguvadi</hi> in the seventeenth <hi rend="italic">kaṇṇāṟu</hi>, north of (<hi rend="italic">the lane called</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Subrahmaṇya-nārāśam</hi>.</p>

· <p>(Ll. 1 and 2 of note.) 480 <hi rend="italic">kuḻi</hi> of second rate (<hi rend="italic">land</hi>) in the sixth square (<hi rend="italic">situated</hi>) to the east of (<hi rend="italic">the path called</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Pallavanāraṇavadi</hi> in the twenty-second <hi rend="italic">kaṇṇāṟu</hi>, west of (<hi rend="italic">the lane called</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Subrahmaṇya-nārāśam</hi>. In all, these (<hi rend="italic">are</hi>) seven <hi rend="italic">pāḍagam (of land</hi>). We (<hi rend="italic">the members</hi>) of the assembly of <hi rend="bold">Uttaramēru-chaturvēdimaṅgalam</hi> having received <hi rend="italic">pūrvāchāram</hi> from this person, declared that no tax, <hi rend="italic">echchōṟu, veṭṭi</hi> and <hi rend="italic">amañji</hi> shall be shown (<hi rend="italic">in the account books</hi>) by us against these lands as long as the moon and the sun (<hi rend="italic">exist</hi>) and had (<hi rend="italic">this</hi>) engraved on stone. I, the arbitrator, <hi rend="bold">Śivadāsaṉ Brahmapriyaṉ</hi>, wrote (<hi rend="italic">this</hi>) under orders of the great men, being myself in the assembly.</p>
