· <p>Hail ! Prosperity ! In the 3rd year of (<hi rend="italic">the reign of</hi>) king <hi rend="bold">Parakēsarivarman</hi>, who took <hi rend="bold">Madirai</hi> (Madura), <hi rend="bold">Iśakkaṉayya-Naṅgai</hi>, one of the servants (<hi rend="italic">parivāram</hi>) of <hi rend="bold">Kāmaṉiyakkaṉār</hi> of . . . . <hi rend="bold">nāḍu</hi>, gave one sacred lamp (<hi rend="italic">to burn</hi>) as long as the moon and the sun (<hi rend="italic">last</hi>), as a sacred perpetual light, to (<hi rend="italic">the temple of</hi>) the god of <hi rend="bold">Tiruviśalūr</hi> in <hi rend="bold">Amaṉinārāyaṇa-chaturvēdimaṅgalam</hi> which was a <hi rend="italic">dēvadāna</hi> and a <hi rend="italic">brahmadēya</hi> on the north bank (<hi rend="italic">of the Kāvērī</hi>). For this (<hi rend="italic">purpose) (she</hi>) gave ninety sheep. (<hi rend="italic">The assembly of</hi>) all <hi rend="italic">Māhēśvaras</hi> . . . . . shall protect this. The sacred feet [of those who protect] (<hi rend="italic">shall be</hi>) on (<hi rend="italic">my head</hi>).</p>
