35 <p>This record which is dated in the 29th year of <hi rend="bold">Parakēsarivarman Parāntaka</hi> I. registers a grant of 30 <hi rend="italic">kaḻañju</hi> of pure gold for a lamp to the temple of Mahādēva at <hi rend="bold">Tiruvoṟṟiyūr</hi>. The donor was <hi rend="bold">Iravi Nīlī</hi>, the daughter of the <hi rend="bold">Chēra</hi> king <hi rend="bold">Vijayarāgadēva</hi>. From the inscriptions published so far we do not know of any <hi rend="bold">Chēra</hi> king of name <hi rend="bold">Vijayarāga</hi> who was a contemporary of <hi rend="bold">Parāntaka</hi>. It has been noted above that <hi rend="bold">Kōkkaṇḍaṉ Sthāṇu Ravi</hi> was a contemporary and friend of <hi rend="bold">Rājakēsarivarman Āditya</hi> I., father of <hi rend="bold">Parāntaka</hi> I. Perhaps Vijayarāga (<hi rend="italic">i.e.</hi>, Vijayarāghava), if at all he was an actual ruler of the Chēra country, might have succeeded Sthāṇu Ravi either as his son or his brother. The friendly relations that thus existed between the <hi rend="bold">Chōḷas</hi> and the <hi rend="bold">Chēras</hi> during the reigns of Āditya I. and Parāntaka I. deserve to be noted.</p>
