35 <p>This inscription is dated in the <hi rend="italic">Viśvāvasu</hi> year, which was current after the expiration of the Śaka year 1286,<note>This is probably a mistake for 1287, as the <hi rend="italic">Viśvāvasu</hi> year corresponds to the current Śaka year 1288.</note> and during the reign of <hi rend="bold">Kambaṇa-uḍaiyar</hi>. The inscription No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0087">87</ref> belongs to the same year, as No. 86, and to the reign of <hi rend="bold">Kambaṇa-uḍaiyar</hi>, the son of <hi rend="bold">Vīra</hi>. The date of No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0088">88</ref> is the <hi rend="bold">Kīlaka</hi> year and the reign of <hi rend="bold">Vīra-Kambaṇṇauḍaiyar</hi>. As it mentions <hi rend="bold">Koppaṇaṅgaḷ</hi>, an official, whose name occurs also in Nos. 86 and <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0087">87</ref>, and as the signatures at its end are identical with some signatures at the end of No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0087">87</ref>, the date of the inscription No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0088">88</ref> cannot have been very distant from that of Nos. 86 and <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0087">87</ref>, and the <hi rend="italic">Kīlaka</hi> year must correspond to Śaka 1291. The inscription No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0087">87</ref>, which reads <hi rend="italic">Vīra-kumāra-Kambaṇa-uḍaiyar</hi>, i.e., <hi rend="bold">Kambaṇa-uḍaiyar</hi>, the son of <hi rend="bold">Vīra</hi>, suggests that <hi rend="italic">Vīra-Kambaṇṇa-uḍaiyar</hi> in No. <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0088">88</ref> is an abbreviation for <hi rend="bold">Kambaṇṇa-uḍaiyar</hi>, (<hi rend="italic">the son of</hi>) <hi rend="bold">Vīra</hi>. The prince, who is mentioned in the three inscriptions Nos. 86, <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i0087">87</ref> and <ref target="DHARMA_INSSIIv01p0i008">88</ref>, may be further identified with <hi rend="bold">Kambaṇa-uḍaiyar</hi>, the son of <hi rend="bold">Vīra-Kambaṇa-uḍaiyar</hi> and father of that <hi rend="bold">Ommaṇa-uḍaiyar</hi>, who according to the <hi rend="bold">Tirumalai</hi> inscription No. 72, above, was reigning in the <hi rend="italic">Ānanda</hi> year, which was current after the expiration of the Śaka year 1296. The subjoined table shows the results of the above remarks.</p>
