(1) Prosperity! Fortune!

(1) Tirthy-sixth year of the glorious Kōpperuñciṅkaṉ, the emperor of all worlds, Siṃha month, date nine.

(1) [This is the] writ of the members of the chief assembly (mūlapparuṣaiyār) of the temple at the independent village of Perumpaṟṟappuliyūr.

(1–4) Taṉmappiriyaṉ, the accountant of the lands (nilakkaṇakku) of our village and Muvāyira Vēḷāṉ of Tillai examined (kaṇṭu) the western hamlet of our village, [which is]

  • west to the glorious Cuntaracōḻa cross channel (vati) on the Mayilpāla Kulakāla Nallūr section (pāl), also known as (āṉa) Accēri Cāttaṅkuṭi in the Kaṅkaikoṇṭacōḻa Perimaḷai-nāṭu
  • and south of the Cōḻakulacuntara channel (vāykkāl)
on the branch channel 6 (kaṇṇāṟu), square 3 as land (peṟṟa nilamāy) from them (ivarkaḷ pakkal) a of land was given (mā-p peṟu) in the name of Mārārayar Kūtta-p-pirāṉār and his partners (uḷḷiṭṭār), which was taken as a (kuḻi) of tax-free [land] (kuḻiyāy taramiliyāy) from the plot (maṇ koṇṭa) [used] for the Kulōttuṅka-cōḻaṉ flower garden of the temple within the land situated to the western boundary of the Etirilicōḻaṉ temple garden and the third square of the channel in the previous days, the mutaliyār Tirumañcaṇam Aḻakiyar bought a lotus pond (tāmarai ōṭaiyāy) and after filling up the tank (kuḷam tukuttu) used up for the maintenance (aṉupavittu varukiṟa) of his dry crops (puṉpayir).
