(1) Prosperity! Fortune!

(1–2) 15th year of the king Parakesarivarman.

(2–9) So that there be (āka), for the Mahādeva, Lord of the Vālīśvara [temple] in Naraciṅkamaṇkalam, east of the Cittiramēkam tank,

  • one quarter (kāl) lamp that Nāṭṭaṭiyaṉ, son of Ātipucaṅkaceṭṭi, a merchant [from] Tiruvaṇṇāmalai, [on] the northern bank of the Peṇṇai [river] [in] the Vāṇakappāṭi, gave (vaitta), and
  • one quarter lamp that the shepherd Cāttakuṭṭi Vīraṉ gave (vaicca),
the great undying and unaging goats given (vaicca) for half a lamp [are] fourty-five and a half1.

(9–10) These [are under] the protection of the Paṉmāheśvaras.

(10–11) These half lamps should burn in day time.

(11–13) He who think/does harm/evil (tīṅku) to/about these goats obtains a sin made between the Ganges and Kumari.

Notes

  1. 1. Or "fourty-five for the half lamp"? But, since the lamp is divided into quarters, a goat could as well be divided into halves.
