1. It is not clear if we have to understand here Narasiṁha Śarman, that is, another element of the personal name of the commissioner of the sluice, or, with an emendation, Narasiṁhavarman, that is, Vēṭpai Cōmāciyār would be the purohita of Narasiṁhavarman.
