(1–6) When Vicaiyātittiyaṉ1 ordered [it], Kampaiyaṉār destroyed Toṇṭūr and died [on the battle-field].

(1) śrī: auspicious beginning or honorific?

It is not clear which edition is to be taken as reference. Sampath or Dayalan? It is not clear if Dayalan had a fresh reading of the inscription or simply edited the previous editions.
