(1–6) Vāṇaṉ, the son of the general Kōṭaṉ Mēṭṭiṇaṉ, fell … [when] he came to besiege (kai koṇṭu¹) Maṇikkal in Vēṇāṭu, alias Iḷaṅkuṉṟi in Vēṇāṭu.
