Translation

⟨1–6⟩ Vāṇaṉ, the son of the general Kōṭaṉ Mēṭṭiṇaṉ, fell … [when] he came to besiege (kai koṇṭu¹) Maṇikkal in Vēṇāṭu, alias Iḷaṅkuṉṟi in Vēṇāṭu.

⟨6⟩ [This is] the stone that Akkaḵimallāṉ has had planted.
