Apparatus

⟨3⟩ [2×] • In SII’s edition two symbols are printed, apparently reproducing what is visible on the stone and looking like 100 and 1. SII notes: “This symbol probably stands for the figure 736.” As 736 kaḻañcus is a very unusual amount, an alternative reading could be: 36 Eḻuttu muppattāṟu. The word eḻuttu would be preceded by the figures in symbol and by the same figures in letters.
