Translation by Emmanuel Francis

(1) Prosperity! Fortune!

(1–2) Sixth year of Kampapaṉmaṉ.1

(2–8) Mātavi, the wife [of] Kāṭakati Araiyar, after renovating this glorious temple, having a front hall erected, renovating the monastery (pāḻi), [and] having a glorious temple [of] Yakṣa Bhaṭṭāri erected, had one big bell fed (ūṭṭuvittāḷThat is, "gave one big bell.") given (iṭṭa) to this paḷḷi.

Translation into French by Emmanuel Francis

Commentary

(5) The term pāḻi is polysemic. Several of its meanings, according to the MTL could apply here: temple, hermitage; cave, mountain cavern; sleeping place for human beings; small tank; flight of steps leading into a tank. Sampath 1968 notes: “Pāḻi is a term, known in all the Jaina Literature, and means a ‘temple’ or sometimes ‘monastery’.” According to Mahalingam 1988, this means here "cavern."

(5) The term paḷḷi appears to be used here in the sense of the entire Jaina cultic place.
