⟨8⟩ m¿o?⟨ē⟩laṉa ⬦ {ra}laṉa IPS; mēlaṉa SII • The original incorrect spelling cannot be mera, as this inscription makes the distinction between medial ā and ra. Both IPS and SII read a piḷḷaiyār cūḻi after this final word, but there is no punctuation mark on the stone.

(1) Prosperity!

(1–3) 5th year of the victorious king Tantippōttaraiyaṉ.1

(3–6) [This is] the pond that Kalimūrkka-Iḷavaraiyaṉ, alias Vāḻi Vaṭukaṉ, a servant of the honourable king Pērati, alias Māṟappiṭuviṉār, made; [its name is] the Vāli tank.

(6–7) The feet of he who protects this pond are on my head.
