⟨3⟩ (m) ārādhitt’ uṇpat’ ākavum ip-paricu pukkār pukkārkku mūṉṟu yāṇṭ’ avadhi-y-āka vaittōm vastu-vidyā-mayaṉ eḻuttu

Translation

Prosperity! Fortune!

We the members of the assembly (sabhā) of Uttaramērucaturvedimaṅkalam, we have allotted (vaittōm) one land of four paṭṭis ⟨named⟩ kārāṇai of Malliyaṉ, as a single plot (tiraḷ-ē), as arcanābhoga, to the great god of Tiruppulivanam.

This should be for feeding (uṇpatu) a Brahmin, who is reputed as (uktaṉ-ākiya) skilled in the Vedas and the proper way of its recitation and who is a brahmācārin, for making worship (ārādhittu) three times ⟨a day⟩.

In this manner (ipparicu) we have alloted ⟨this⟩ for a limit of three years for each entrant (pukkār pukkārkku).

Commentary

⟨1⟩ Malliyaṉ Kārāṇai designates the land given. It incorporates the personal name Malliyaṉ.
