Commentary

The lack of context hinders the proper identification of the Pallava Mahendravarman. But paleography could help when comparing with similar labels (see inscriptions Pallava 488 abd Pallava 489). Observe and compare the shape of the characters śa and ga. See ARIE argument (p. 54) and others (IP, SRB).
