· <p>The short and long forms of the <foreign>ulu</foreign> and <foreign>suku</foreign> are often not distinguished, with the scribe using the corresponding short forms for <foreign>ī</foreign> and <foreign>ū</foreign>. Word-final <foreign>anusvāra</foreign> is often omitted, and there is persistent confusion between <foreign>pa</foreign>, <foreign>ma</foreign>, and <foreign>ha</foreign>, e.g. the repeated error <foreign>kamuAṁ</foreign> for <foreign>kapuAṁ</foreign>. In the word <foreign>maṁguñjai</foreign>, the diacritic <foreign>-ai</foreign> was written to very closely resemble <foreign>ra</foreign> (2r4) and <foreign>ri</foreign> (7r5) at the time of reissue.</p>
· <p>There are certain spelling idiosyncrasies throughout, such as <foreign>Ityaivamadhi</foreign> for <foreign>Ityaivamādi</foreign> (7v4,7v5, 8r1) and <foreign>vadəhati</foreign> for <foreign>vadihati</foreign> (4r1, 8r2). Similar to other <foreign>tinulad</foreign> texts, there is a general preference for using <foreign>pasangan</foreign> and diacritic vowels at word boundaries, instead of <foreign>virāma</foreign> and independent vowels (e.g. <foreign>pasuk alas·</foreign> instead of <foreign>pasuk· Alas·</foreign> in 2v1 and <foreign>molih amaliṁ</foreign> instead of <foreign>moliḥ Amaliṁ</foreign> in 8r1). </p>
60 <p>A number of the above-mentioned errors are easily explained as based on misinterpretation of an earlier script form and thus lend a certain credibility to the global textual fidelity of this reissue vis-à-vis the 10th-c. original: a faithful attempt seems to have been made to reproduce an original, as opposed to a scenario of rigorous editing at the time of reissue.</p>
