Commentary
Definition of a ka-kalaṅ-an. A derivation of kalaṅ with the circumfix ka--an: "domain of the kalaṅ", following van Naerssen. See also OJO XXXI,r17 and kakurugan for other examples?
Interesting toponyms: Siṁnah, Pakəmbaṅan, Gəmpəṅ, Gologok, Bataṅ, Bola. For Pakəmbaṅan (flower garden or pond?), see OJO XCIII, OJO XXIX, DV 23.2 as well as van Stein Callenfels in OV 1926, p. 82. A place named Batang appears in the Deśavarṇana (18.8a), and another occurrence of this toponym is found in the Kudadu inscription (place 4r), referring to a place passed by Raden Vijaya on his way to Kapulungan. The former was, according to Prapañca, in the vicinity of another place named Kulur, which Hadi Sodiomulyo has identified as the modern dusun Kolur, in Kolursari, southeast of Mojotunon. See if these places correspond to toponyms around the northeastern foot of Penanggungan, around Mojosari.
