· <p>It is not evident why many scholars situate the inscription around 908. We suspect the only reason is that Damais 1970 classed this as "ca. 830 Śaka", while subsequent scholars have missed the nuance intended by “ca.”. Our impression is that it is certainly several decades post-Balitung. There are several terminological correspondences with Sindok and even Airlangga. See provisional text in Sindok file.</p>
