· <p rend="stanza" n="1">Victorious is He with the moon diadem, of incomparable power, the Lord, whose eight forms control <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tantritam</foreign></supplied> the beginningless universe !</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="2">Having conquered all his enemies by means of his shrewd polity <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>sunīti</foreign>°</supplied> and broad-reaching power <supplied reason="explanation">°<foreign>pr̥thuśakti</foreign>°</supplied>, he who fosters <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>prakaroti</foreign></supplied> the progeny of <supplied reason="subaudible">all</supplied> four groups of society <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>gaṇavargāṇām</foreign></supplied>,</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="3">the lotus of whose pair of feet, decorated with the filaments that were the toenails, was waited upon by the bees that were the diadems of constantly prostrating vassal kings,</p>
175 <p rend="stanza" n="4">whose <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>yasya</foreign></supplied> unfailing fame <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>amoghakīrtiḥ</foreign></supplied>, pure <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>amalā</foreign></supplied>, spreading out in all directions <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>digantaravisarpiṇī</foreign></supplied>, like the moon's moonlight born of its rays <seg rend="pun">but emanating from his hands</seg> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>karajā</foreign></supplied>, is praised <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kīrtyate</foreign></supplied> by poets <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kavibhiḥ</foreign></supplied>,</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="5">- by the command <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>ājñayā</foreign></supplied> of that Śrī-Īśānavarmadeva, a <supplied reason="subaudible">veritable</supplied> Viṣṇu <seg rend="pun">a repository of splendour</seg> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>śrīnivāsasya</foreign></supplied> because of his broad stride <seg rend="pun">because of his valour</seg> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vikramāt</foreign></supplied>, there was a person who <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>yaḥ</foreign></supplied> was appointed <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>adhikr̥taḥ</foreign></supplied>, for the protection <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>pālanāya</foreign></supplied> of his merit<supplied reason="subaudible">orious foundation</supplied>s <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>puṇyānāṁ</foreign></supplied>.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="6">He who <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>yaḥ</foreign></supplied> was the overlord <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>adhipatiḥ</foreign></supplied> of administrative officers <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tantrādhyakṣeṣu</foreign></supplied> for the South-facing ŚrīGambhīreśvara, specifically <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>eva</foreign></supplied> in respect of auspicious <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kuśaleṣu</foreign></supplied> deeds <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>karmasu</foreign></supplied>.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="7">For whom, what he most desired <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>iṣṭaṁ</foreign></supplied>, in birth after birth <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>janmajanmasu</foreign></supplied>, was X… towards his gurus, firm attachment to devotion <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>bhaktinibandhanam</foreign></supplied> towards Śiva <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>bhave</foreign></supplied>, and constant immersion in recollection <supplied reason="subaudible">of Śiva</supplied> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>sadānusmr̥tiyogaḥ</foreign></supplied>,</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="8">In this place <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>atra</foreign></supplied> by that <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tena</foreign></supplied> yogin, by name Vidyācandra, the founder <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>yajvanā</foreign></supplied>, this <supplied reason="subaudible">god</supplied> Śrī Prabhāsasomeśa was correctly installed <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>supratiṣṭhitaḥ</foreign></supplied> in accordance with <supplied reason="subaudible">scriptural</supplied> injunctions <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>vidhinā</foreign></supplied>.</p>
180 <p rend="stanza" n="9">May the Bhagavān <supplied reason="subaudible">Viṣṇu</supplied> installed <supplied reason="subaudible">here</supplied> in this same piece of ground of Him <supplied reason="subaudible">viz. Prabhāsasomeśa</supplied> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>yasya</foreign></supplied> go to a relationship of fixed <supplied reason="subaudible">shared</supplied> revenue with that same Śambhu <supplied reason="subaudible">namely Prabhāsasomeśa</supplied>, who faces North <supplied reason="subaudible" cert="low">with respect to Gambhīreśvara</supplied>.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="10">By that same <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tena</foreign></supplied> founder <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>yajvanā</foreign></supplied>, who was conscious of favours rendered to him <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kr̥tavedinā</foreign></supplied>, this <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>ayam</foreign></supplied> deity <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>devaḥ</foreign></supplied> Tantrānubandhaka <seg rend="pun">who protects the administration</seg> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tantrānubandhakaḥ</foreign></supplied> was brought <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>ānītaḥ</foreign></supplied> to the earth <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>bhuvam</foreign></supplied> here and was attached <supplied reason="subaudible" cert="low">fiscally</supplied> <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>pratibaddhaḥ</foreign></supplied> to that <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>tasmai</foreign></supplied> <supplied reason="subaudible" cert="low">other deity</supplied>.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="11-12">Whoever should wish to take the wealth of cattle, fields, slaves and so forth that he given to this <supplied reason="subaudible">god</supplied> for the stable maintenance of the performance of worship of that <supplied reason="subaudible">Śiva</supplied>, may that worst of men go to the terrible punishment of <supplied reason="subaudible">the hell called</supplied> Avīcī, along with his line of sons and grandsons, while never attaining <supplied reason="subaudible">human</supplied> birth again.</p>
