·<p>882 Śaka, eleventh, waning, Āṣāḍha, Friday, when <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>nu</foreign></supplied> Mratāñ Śrī Naravīra respectfully informed that <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>man</foreign></supplied> the gods <supplied reason="explanation">whose statues were installations</supplied> of Mratāñ Śrī Kavīndrārimathana <supplied reason="explanation">made</supplied> at the capital and the domain of Kuṭīśvara, endowed <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>kalpanā</foreign></supplied> by Mratāñ Śrī Kavīndrārimathana <supplied reason="subaudible">and</supplied> entered <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>cval</foreign></supplied> into dependency <supplied reason="explanation"><foreign>saṁnā</foreign></supplied> of the holy/royal Saugatāśrama, there was an order of His Majesty V.K.A. to the Great Minister of the Royal Family and Mratāñ Śrī Naravīra instructing the gods of Mratāñ Śrī Kavīndrārimathana to enter into dependency of the holy/royal Saugatāśrama with all the assets <supplied reason="subaudible">belonging</supplied> to the gods at the two places.</p>

· <p rend="stanza" n="2">La victoire est à Lokeśvara né pour le salut du monde, à lui, qui rendant en quelque sorte visibles les quatre Vérités saintes et donnant à la Loi une base ferme et extrêmement solide, a doué cette dernière de l'éclat de ses quatre bras <seg rend="pun">ou : de Caturbhuja = Viṣṇu</seg> pour la prosperité de la terre.</p>

· <p rend="stanza" n="7">Dans sa main habile à la garde des trois mondes, <supplied reason="subaudible">Brahmā</supplied> né du lotus, <supplied reason="subaudible">Viṣṇu</supplied> aux yeux de lotus et <supplied reason="subaudible">Śiva</supplied> aux trois yeux déposèrent le Lotus des lotus, le grand Disque splendide et le Javelot ; désormais tranquilles, ils se réjouissent dans le ciel, se livrant à l'ascétisme dans le bonheur de la méditation.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="8">Par son ordre auguste et inviolable, le joyau des ongles de ses deux pieds était léché par les rayons jetés par les tiares des rois ennemis dont il avait brisé la fermeté et la puissance, et qui manifestaient en quelque sorte le désir de lui obéir, <supplied reason="subaudible">désir</supplied> payé de retour par leur propre élévation.</p>
440 <p rend="stanza" n="9">Quand il se livrait à la destruction de la foule de ses ennemis arrogants, il ne cessait d'étendre, pareille à une masse de nuages noirs, la fumée qui sortait en tourbillons du feu de ses milliers de sacrifices et rendait les points cardinaux orgueilleux de porter le ciel enfumé.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="10">Bien que l'ambroisie incorruptible – sa gloire –, répandue par les ennemis qui avaient baratté l'océan – la bataille – avec le Mandara – leurs bras –, eût été bue par les trois mondes, elle ne fut pas détruite pour cela <supplied reason="subaudible">mais au contraire</supplied> grandement augmentée.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="11">Dans les combats il répandait en quelque sorte la flamme du feu final par la masse de ses flèches aussi difficiles à regarder que le soleil brillant, ayant l'éclat doré de l'armure d'or du soleil, et rougies <supplied reason="subaudible">du sang</supplied> de son grand ennemi transpercé.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="12">Sa gloire, née dans l'océan de ses bonnes œuvres, considérant que la lune a une tache corporelle et se disant : "Qu'elle ne me ressemble pas", se hâta de donner à l'univers entier la <foreign>kalā</foreign> de son extrême beauté.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="13">Ainsi que Kuśa l'avait fait pour Ayodhyā, il restaura la sainte ville de Yaśodharapurī demeurée longtemps vide et la rendit superbe et charmante <supplied reason="subaudible">en y élevant</supplied> des maisons <supplied reason="subaudible">ornées</supplied> d'or brillant, des palais <supplied reason="subaudible">enrichis</supplied> de pierreries, telle que le palais de Mahendra sur la terre.</p>

· <p rend="stanza" n="17">Il était le premier de ceux dont on vante les bonnes œuvres, par ses bonnes œuvres ; le premier d'entre les artistes, par le soin avec lequel il cultivait les arts ; le premier d'entre les riches, par sa fortune ; le premier de ceux qui possèdent une intelligence supérieure, par sa parfaite connaissance des hommes.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="18">Protecteur en qui la multitude des êtres venaient chercher refuge, lune ayant pour <foreign>kalās</foreign> la réunion de toutes les vertus, il suivit sans cesse le chemin du devoir, grâce à sa bonne conduite et à son vif désir de réaliser la qualité de bonté.</p>
450 <p rend="stanza" n="19">En huit-montagnes-flèches <supplied reason="explanation">875 <foreign>śaka</foreign></supplied>, ce buddhiste éminent érigea ici avec dévotion une grande image du Jina, une Divyadevī avec un Śrīvajrapāṇi, au milieu de la multitude des palais charmants, comme si c'eût été dans son cœur divin.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="20"> En <foreign>śaka</foreign> huit-saveurs-formes <supplied reason="explanation">868</supplied>, il érigea à Jayantadeśa une statue du Jina ; en <foreign>śaka</foreign> huit-montagnes-yeux <supplied reason="explanation">872</supplied> à Kuṭiśvara, un Lokanātha et deux Devīs.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="21"> Qu'à l'exception du Hotar, le meilleur d'entre les brahmanes, personne ne se baigne ici, dans l'eau provenant du <foreign>tīrtha</foreign> né au sommet de la sainte montagne du Mahendra, dans l'eau bénie de ce fossé sacré, qui, bien que peu abondante, procure d'abondants mérites.</p>
· <p rend="stanza" n="22">Qu'on se garde bien surtout de faire baigner un troupeau d'éléphants dans cet étang dont l'eau est destinée à faire le bonheur de la multitude des créatures, même à une distance de deux cents <foreign>yakta</foreign> et de quatre cents <foreign>agra</foreign> : car cela détériorerait les berges.</p>
