(1) Prosperity! Fortune!

(1–4) In the 15th regnal year of Kōṉēṟiṉmaikoṇṭāṉ, the emperor of the three worlds, [a order was issued] in Kāñcikkūval nāṭu for the Kaṇmāḷars. The blowing of the the two conches (iraṭṭai-c-caṅkum) and the beating of all [the drums], including the kettle-drum (pērikai), for their auspicious and inauspicious occasions (nammai-tiṉmaikku) shall be granted and they should keep outside [these instruments] as their [emblems].

(4–6) Shoes (pātarākṣai) are to be authorised while they make journey,1 their houses have to be smeared with sandal paste (cāntu) and a document has to be attained.

(6–7) [These orders] shall be engraved on stone and copper in [all] the places. [Issued] in the 15th year.

(7–8) This is signed by Viḻuppātarāyaṉ. This is signed by Kāliṅkarāyaṉ.

Commentary

This inscriptions belongs to the time of Jaṭāvarmaṉ Kulaśēkhara II, 1253 A.D., according to Shanmugam 2018.
