Translation

⟨1⟩ Prosperity! Fortune!

⟨1⟩ This is the sixth year of king Vīrarājendra (Kulottuṅga III).

⟨2–6⟩ I, Koṭumpuṉavantēvaṉ Aṭavallaṉ Nampi, have set up the guardian deity (kṣetrapāla piḷḷai) for the god Nalla-nāyaṉār of Nallūr, built the shrine (kōyilum eṭuppitu), and endowed (iṭṭa) a quarter of wet-land–situated in the settlements of [these] five people–for the sacred lamp (tiruviḷakku) and the food offering (tiruvamutu paṭi )in the temple of the Lord Nalla-nāyaṉār.

⟨6–11⟩ We, the residents of Koṭumpuṉavam

  • Koṭumpuṉavaṉ Ciṅkantēvar Ciriya Malaiyamāṉ,

  • Paṭaiyaṉ Ceyaṅkoṇṭa Malaiyamāṉ,

  • Tēvatirucciṟṟampala Malaiyamāṉ,

  • Amattai Kūvāṉ, and

  • Paṭiyaṉ Nāṭaṉ,

have given this [endowment for] this town (itu ivvūr) after we, such people (ivv-aṉaivōm), poured water on the holy feet of the deity (piḷḷai)

⟨11–12⟩ Whoever alters this (itu māṟuvāṉ) will become the husband of his own mother (ammaikku tāṉē).

⟨12⟩ [This is] the oath (cattiyam) of Vallavaraiyaṉ.

This will be under the protection of the Śaiva devotees as long as the sun and the moon remain.
